Tree Peonies - watercolor paintings from last year

I have a stack of photographs to use as reference for watercolor paintings, including some tree peonies. I am itching to get started, but other chores get in the way, and I want a few days at least to work on only watercolor. One of the chores is to clean off my painting table. It has become a charcoal drawing table, and the resulting dust would not be a positive addition to my watercolor painting.

I am posting these images that I painted last year. They have a wonderful bulbous look to them. Sort of a cross between a peony and a tulip.

Continuing education

I have reached the one year anniversary of my education at Ani Academy in Wilkes-Barre, PA. As a long distance student, I complete the exercises of the curriculum, email an image to Victoria Steel, my instructor, and then visit every 6 weeks or so, to work alongside the other students, and listen to words of wisdom from Anthony Waichulis. How I wish I could have done something like this 30 years ago!

Tony took this photo as I was polishing my first drawing, "Carra".

"Carra" was included in the Rehs Gallery exhibition "Synesthesia".
As was "Fly Me To The Moon", below....
